OVERVIEW

The Tarani Gold Mine project is the Kilamongo Gold’s flagship project in Tanzania. Kilamongo Gold’s flagship Tarani Gold Mine is host to both near surface and underground gold deposits. The strategy of tailing mineral processing and de-risking in parallel with resource and reserve growth at Tarani Gold Mine is shaping towards another significant uplift as the Company progresses closer to a decision to mine.

The resources have been identified as being the direct result of two forms of enrichment known to occur, primary and secondary enrichment. The project’s open cast deposits open at depth have been identified as being the direct result of primary enrichment (impregnation of lateritic crust).

Residual enrichment caused by decomposition of pyrite, occurs nearly in every auriferous reef or impregnation. The loss of pyrite raises the proportion of gold slightly. At Tarani Gold Mine, secondary enrichment occurs within the first 85 feet and often about 35 to 55 feet from the surface as shown from exploration shafts and trenches excavated. It is recognized by the increase of values as the upper portion of sulphide zone is approached and by the diminishing of value to a more or less constant value when pyrite zone is entered giving the Company a rare potential to provide low-cost, near-term, sustained gold production operation from a known source.

A significant geo-metallurgical study has been initiated at the Tarani Gold Mine with the key objectives of the study being to investigate relationships between alteration patterns, geochemical zonation, ore textures and to assess the impact on liberation behaviour and recovery response. The first resource estimate is confined to the abundant open cast deposits open at depth located within the centre of a larger identified cluster of black silicified amygdaloid. Gold is found either as primary gold in the quartz, unassocieated with other minerals or intimately associated with pyrites distributed in shoots or zones in the reef. In most cases when it occurs in pyrite, it is free-milling only in the oxidized zone.

Quantitative and predictive geo-metallurgical models integrating a range of geological and geo-metallurgical data are being developed to reflect variability across the deposit and will allow for quantification of and modelling of process behaviour. Proxies have been developed which allow for ore classification to be extrapolated across the deposit, in turn allowing predictive models for comminution and recovery parameters to be assigned to the Tarani Gold Mine Mineral Resource.
