DISCOVERING TANZANIA – "INVESTOR’S DREAMLAND"

Kilamongo Gold is very extremely pleased to exist in Tanzania, the largest Country in Eastern Africa with a land surface area of approximately 886,000 square kilometers excluding water surface area estimated at 59,087 square kilometers that includes Zanzibar the magical and musical paradise in the Indian Ocean. Out of that land 53,160 square kilometers equivalent to 6% is for both permanent agricultural and settlement activities, 354,400 square kilometers equivalent to 40% is being utilized as grazing area, while 478,440 square kilometers equivalent to 54% is being covered with arable land stock, forests and solid or liquid rocks, lakes, rivers, dams, ponds, streams, beaches, livestock, wildlife, reservoirs and distinctive numerous minerals, Kilimanjaro mountain with snow and the planet’s oldest rocks and wildlife including the big five.

On the part of minerals alone, Tanzania is endowed with varieties of minerals ranging from precious metals, precious colored gemstones, diamonds, base metals, platinum group of metals (PGM), coal, agro-minerals, chemical minerals and industrial minerals. In 2013, Tanzania played an important role in the global production of gold, accounting for nearly 1.6% of the world’s gold mine output (George, 2014).

Mining industry in Tanzania has recently become an important sector of the economy. In 1999, Tanzania's mining industry grew 27%, and has continued to grow. Based on ongoing projects and developing of mines. Tanzania’s estimated gold reserves have been calculated at a conservative total and it now has proved gold reserves in excess of 2,222 (million) tons, Nickel 209 (million) tons and Copper 13.65 (million) tons. Between 1997 and 2005, Tanzania exported gold worth more than US$2.54 billion (bn). The mining industry remains relatively small but it is exceedingly important as a significant source of the country’s export revenues. Of all these reserves to be developed, the participation of Tanzania citizens in the mining industry is about 10% and working as artisanal and small-scale miners. All these resources have not been transformed into wealth to a satisfactory manner while gold mining is the fastest growing sector of Tanzania’s economy. Minerals now account for nearly half the country’s exports and Tanzania is Africa’s third largest gold producer after South Africa and Ghana and the government’s estimates, about 90% of Tanzania’s minerals – including gold, diamonds and gemstones – are yet to be exploited, welcome to Tanzania.
